International Day of People with Disability Event - Pilbara 2025

An inclusive community event to celebrate achievements, amplify voices, and build connections.
 

Wednesday 3 December 2025 | 9:00am – 2:00pm |  Red Earth Arts Precinct, Karratha

About The Event

The International Day of People with Disability (IDPWD) is a globally recognised day that celebrates the achievements, strengths, and contributions of people with disability.

 

This year, the Pilbara Disability Network is proud to host a major community event in Karratha, designed to amplify lived experience, showcase inclusive practices, and connect people with disability with services, community groups, and employers.

 

The event will be held at the Red Earth Arts Precinct and will feature:

 

  • Guest speakers with lived experience

  • Interactive education and awareness activations

  • Community and service provider stalls

  • Sensory-friendly and accessible activities for all ages

  • Food vans, coffee, and a shared morning tea

  • Opportunities for the community to learn, engage and take action

What to Expect

Convention

Guest Speakers & Presentations

Be inspired by powerful stories, insights, and ideas from people with lived experience, advocates, and inclusion champions. Our speaker sessions will explore themes of Sstory telling, accessibility, community connection, and breaking down barriers. Each presentation will be designed to inform, challenge, and inspire positive action in the Pilbara.

Stall Holder Showcase

Discover a vibrant mix of community groups, disability service providers, small businesses, and local creators. From information about supports and resources, to unique products and services, our stallholder area is your chance to connect directly with organisations and individuals making a difference in our region.

From hands-on creative workshops, to educational displays, live demonstrations, and quiet spaces to recharge, there’s something for everyone. We’re seeking speakers and presenters with lived experience, expertise, or innovative ideas related to disability, inclusion, accessibility, and community connection.

Presentation format: 10–30 minute sessions
Deadline for applications: 31/10/2025
